I am Joey Lepetri, Principal at Golden Hill K-8 Duel Immersion School. I am honored to carry on the Golden Hill Legacy. I am an educational leader who believes that all students deserve access to a loving and supportive learning community, a community that challenges them and empowers them to be the best they can be. All my decisions hinge on one question: “What is best for kids?” I am passionate about public education because a strong education is the most powerful gift we can give a child.
As an educational leader, I hold four core beliefs:
- First, we must educate the whole child, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.
- Second, we must establish a loving, supportive culture so children feel safe and free to be themselves.
- Third, we must work together as a united community of teachers, staff, and parents. We must be role models for our children, so our children can see what a healthy community looks like and feels like. Children must see diverse adults collaborating and working together, even making sacrifices, for their children's collective future.
- Finally, we must grant every student access to relevant, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences, so each child can become the best they can be.
I further believe that we can only achieve these goals by making sure that teachers know every student's individual social, emotional, and learning needs. Developing a strong social/emotional learning program constitutes the foundation of any successful school. I am eager to partner with the Golden Hill faculty, students, and families to continue the great things going on at the school. Specifically, I look forward to focusing on our Social/Emotional Learning Program, Dual Language Immersion, Project-Based Learning in the middle school, and working with students and teachers to develop a deep conceptual understanding of mathematics concepts.
I look forward to getting to know each student and family by name. I am committed to helping all students succeed and enjoy life. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
